From Glenn – August 15

“As long as you think that you are of value to Him, He cannot choose you, because you have purposes of your own to serve.” Those words from Oswald Chambers have a sting to them…at least they did to me. I believe God wants me to remember that I’m valuable to Him, but when my personal agenda drives me to being high on myself, God will not choose me to serve along side Him because I have become self-sufficient.
In Romans 12:3 we read, “For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone of you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensi-bly,” then Paul goes on to tell us that we are many parts with many gifts and we are one body in Christ. Again, as long as I think I am the only one of use to God, He accomplishes nothing through me. The important thing for all of us to keep in mind is that our relationship with our Heavenly Father is to be the top priority in our lives. The influence and qualities seen in us produced by that relationship should be at the top of the list, and not the work we do or how valuable we think we are to God.
A priority on our relationship is all He asks of us, and that is the one thing that’s under attack constantly.
